The 1986 Boys' Tennis Team won the first of six straight VA. State Class A championships for George Mason High School in boys' tennis. Anchored by George Mason Hall of Famer Carlos Rodriguez, the young squad had no seniors, nine freshmen, four sophomores, and three juniors on its roster. Coach Al Krueger has called this team perhaps the most memorable of his six teams that won state titles, partly because the team's success was so unexpected due to its youth.
