Howard Bronson ('56) was the first outstanding lineman to play football at George Mason. He was selected to the All-Suburban football team as a freshman - the youngest ever to receive that distinction at George Mason. Howard was honored as the team's only First-Team All-Metropolitan Football selection in 1955 and was George Mason's Most Valuable Player during his senior year. After graduation, Howard earned All-American football honors as a player for the United States Air Force Academy. During his senior year at the Academy, Howard was named the captain of the football team.
