Steve Clinton ('80) starred in basketball and baseball for George Mason. In basketball, he lettered three years and in his senior year captained/led his team to the AA District Championship, made the winning basket, and received Most Valuable Player honors. Steve was also named to the District First Team and to the Region 2nd team. He average 19 pts. and 5 assists per game. In baseball, Steve also lettered three years and in his senior year was the starting 2nd baseman for the 1980 Group AA Virginia State Championship team and was named to the All-Region tournament team. During his senior year he batted over .300 with a .450 on-base percentage with only one error. He continued his baseball career at the College of William and Mary, lettering four years and participating in the 1983 NCAA College Baseball Tournament.
